Grab the napkins. These are saucy, fall off the bone and packed with smoky chipotle flavor.

I love how your oven can really get the job done…yes, a grill and smoker work wonders but when your grill is covered with snow and I don’t have time for my smoker…the oven works great.

The rub and bbq sauce bring all the sticky-ness, flavor and texture you need.

Let's talk about this BBQ sauce.

DO NOT be intimidated.

This can be made in a jar and mixed together with a spoon.

It’s not rocket science. It’s seriously about adding ingredients together, stirring them up and lathering onto the ribs.

Easy.

  • Yellow Mustard
  • Molasses
  • Brown Sugar

If you have an oven and like ribs. Make this recipe. It’s simple, delicious and perfect for a mid-week meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 lbs. baby back pork ribs
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon each sea salt and pepper
  • 2 heaping tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 heaping tablespoon smoked paprika

Chipotle BBQ Sauce

  • 1/3 cup sugar free ketchup
  • 1 tablepoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle puree
  • 2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
  • Salt + Pepper, to taste
  • Red Pepper Flakes, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300F. Line a baking sheet tray with foil. Cut another pieces of foil to cover the top of the ribs.
  2. Place the ribs on the prepared baking sheet tray. Either mix together the remaining ingredients in a small bowl – yellow mustard, salt, pepper, brown sugar and smoked paprika or place the ingredients in a messy pile ontop of the ribs and rub all over both sides of the ribs.
  3. Tightly wrap the ribs up in the foil so that it is like a present. Place the ribs in the oven for 2 hours.
  4. Meanwhile, mix together all the bbq sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
  5. After the 2 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and slather them with the bbq sauce (reserve any for serving or double the recipe). Tightly wrap the ribs back up and place in your oven for 35 minutes.
  6. Remove the ribs from the oven and let it for 10 minutes (still wrapped in the foil). When you are ready to serve, cut the ribs into portions and slather more of the bbq sauce over them.
