I'm loving | January

Chef Kat's yellow lab, Milo

This guy. I mean, seriously.

He drives me crazy but I also can’t love him enough. So much joy, love and slobbers he have given us.

Witnessing someone or something experience pour joy, zen or utopia is magic.

He LOVES the snow. We always knew it but with a fresh dump of light fluffy white stuff – he was in his place. Rubbing his face in it, running circles around us and I’m sure enjoying all the cold he could absorb.

Somedays I don’t have the motivation to get outside but with him starring at me with those eyes and with snow on the ground it’s a good motivator to get myself out there. Plus, we all know that sometimes it’s hard making that first step but afterwards it’s so worth it.

3 kitchen products, I CAN'T live without.

YOU GUYS – Run and buy this pan. From Our Place the “Always Pan” It’s AMAZING! I bought 3 – gifted 2 of them and kept one for myself. I love it! Scrambled eggs have never been fluffier and the clean up is so easy…like wiping with a cloth and it’s good.

Let’s talk pizza stone. You NEED one. Like, you HAVE to have one. Don’t you dare cook a pizza on a regualr sheet pan. Pizza stones carry the heat evenly and make clean up easy. Use them for calzones, fries, pita and naan, quesadillas, biscuits, english muffins too.

I use this kettle everyday! It’s great for my solo cup of coffee and my nightly tea. I love using it to quickly boil pasta water or steam water. It’s helps speed up the process. And I think I may need this one next

Books on my list to read.

Dream Kitchen thoughts.

I was recently asked about what would my dream kitchen look like and have in it.

Well, I’ve been lucky to have planned and designed two very large home renovations…I remember ripping the roof off of our last home…Ugh. Anyway, it’s really a loaded question…but with a new to us home in our future, I’ve been save ideas and I think this next kitchen might just be a dream come true.

4 things I must have in my dream kitchen.

  1. LOTS of counter space. It’s never enough.
  2. Natural wood elements with solid surface backsplash.
  3. Large refrigeration…and maybe intergrated into the cabinets.
  4.  A statement hood/stove combination with water filler – love a wood covered hood.

What I made 1 year ago.

Whoa, January is almost in the books.

Instead of focusing on what I didn’t do this month, I’m focusing on ALL the things I accomplished and the adventures I went on. More love and less critique.
