Horseradish and Mustard White BBQ Sauced Chicken

Horseradish + Mustard White BBQ Sauced Chicken in sun light with two forks

Looking to change up the typical BBQ Chicken? Well, here you go.

This white sauce is SO good. Tangy apple cider vinegar along with bright and spicy horseradish and spicy mustard. The lemon juice, cayenne pepper and honey balance is ALL out. Perfect.

I love using chicken thighs because they are meaty, tender, moist (they don’t dry out easily like chicken breasts) and they are cost effective – got to love that.

I love garnishing everything with fresh chives – you always need some greens with a meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup avocado mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon spicy mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 8 boneless chicken thighs, cut in half length wise
  • 6 wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Heat your grill to high heat.
  2. Mix together the bbq sauce ingredients – vinegar, honey, pepper, horseradish, mustard, lemon juice, salt, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Set a side.
  3. Weave 3-4 pieces of chicken on each skewer. Repeat until all the chicken is on a skewer. Place them on a baking sheet or large plate. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of the white bbq sauce on top. Roll the skewers around in the sauce before placing them on the grill.
  4. When your grill is hot, add the chicken in one line and one layer. Let grill without flipping or turning the skewers for 6 minutes. Flip over and cook for 6 more minutes or until the chicken is completely cooked through.
  5. Remove from the grill and drizzle 1 tablespoon of sauce on top, before serving. Serve the remaining sauce at the table for dipping.
