I'm loving | January

Snowy Vail Colorado

Happy New Year! My words for the new year are.

  • Refreshed.
  • Determined.
  • Focused.
  • In line.

The end of last year flew by for me and while I’m so thankful for so many things in my life…I just wish time could slow down sometimes.

I was fortunate to take a family ski trip before diving into the New Year. I left behind my blog, food photography and personal chef work. It was really nice. Now, I’m feeling refreshed, determined, focused and in line. Plus the sun has been shining, I’m managing my dry skin, wearing warm socks and drinking more tea. It’s the small changes, sometimes.

Products that I love right now!

My January jump start

I am giving myself 30 days to jump start a healthier me…and if I like how I feel after those days, I’ll continue.

1. Eating all meats and vegetables. Just meats and vegetables. No sugar. No dairy. No alcohol. No grains. All real whole foods.

2. Going to bed by 10pm. Sleeping by 10pm.

3. Exercising for 40 minutes 5 days per week.

4. Not checking my phone first thing when I wake up.

I’ve done a variation of this before and I felt amazing. The end of last year, kind of got away with me. I wasn’t able to get outside as much as I like to, work and life were crazy…and I was making a lot of excuses. Not now.

Popular January recipes

Phew. The last months of the year aren’t always the best for me. I am very busy with work, wrapping my brain around the endless lists I have, gift buying and giving,

I remember telling someone that I didn’t have brain space and I needed to circle back with them in 2 weeks. Seriously. It felt liberating. I also felt, if they don’t get it or understand or give me that time, then whatever it is, will be. I am glad that I allowed myself that.

It’s not always the best season for me.

Now that I’m out of all the hustle, I’m looking back at it all. I wasn’t sleeping well, constantly running on low energy, kind of feeling in a fog, not doing much self care and just going through the motions. It’s really no way to live.

It’s ironic that its a new year and I’m feeling fresh. It’s a new beginning, no matter how you look at it. I brushed off my crazy end of 2022 and now feel more content, not overwhelmed and good with not doing it all.

Delicious recipes from last month.
