I'm loving | December 2021
This month has really gone by quickly. I’ve been trying to soak up every moment, but per usual December is one of my busiest times for my business. Client holiday partys, business get togethers and end of the year friends and family celebrations.
I feel grateful, lucky and so appreciative for all the work that keeps me busy at the end of the year. It makes me look at those times my business is a bit slower and really appreciate the ebs and flows of the business.
BUT what I have learned is to take a vacation or a time out. I dedicate a lot of my time to my clients – creating personalized menus for them, scheduling my life around my work and letting my mind be consummed with work.
Owning your own business can be hard (but SO rewarding too) – feeling like you work all the time. I sure do. Even if I’m not cooking, I’m creating menus, planning lists upon lists of ingredients or recipes, flavors combinations, contacting brands and scheduling what seasonal ingredients are the freshest to cook with.
Giving myself time to recharge has been important. I look forward to some much needed family time over Christmas..don’t worry I’ll be sharing some great recipes to end the year with and to start the new one with delicious meals. I’m taking 10 days off – like pretty much ZERO kitchen time. Whoa…sounds like a lot to me, but I’ll be checking in occasionally but really using the time for me.
