Top 10 Audio Books of 2025

Does it really count that you “read” a book when you listened to it?

There are pros and cons to pretty much everything in life. Cheese or no cheese. Sleep in or wake up for the sunrise. Potato or potato. I mean, really. Same goes for books. I see the agrument from both sides.

I love books. I love holding the actual paper book and diving deep into the chapters. I like being able to peel the pages back to re-read a section, check a date or remember a family members names.

I also love listening to audiobooks. About a year ago, I switched my mental game. While I was scrolling through the latest playlists and basically listening to mindless music while I was driving – I thought I would test out an audiobook. And I was hooked. I started listening while I worked. That was a game changer – not only was my mind not wondering while I chopped pounds of onions – I felt like I was being more productive mentally.

This year I’ve read and listening to over 70 books. It’s my ME time. It was hard to narrow down all the books I loved, couldn’t stop listening to and the ones that stayed with me for a while. But in order not to share all 70+ books, here are my Top Audiobooks.

Drum roll, please.
My Top Audiobooks from this year! 5 stars!

ChatGPT said:

Audiobooks have completely changed how I view downtime and everyday chores like laundry or vacuuming. Now, I just pop in my headphones and get lost in a good story while tackling tasks that used to feel tedious. I actually find myself looking forward to this time—not because I’m eager to fold laundry, but because I’m making the most of it. Audiobooks make multitasking easy, letting you listen while driving, exercising, or doing household work.

They’re also a great option for anyone who experiences reading fatigue, and with a skilled narrator bringing the story to life, it’s easy to stay engaged without the temptation to skim or skip parts.

More books worth sharing. Really liked these too!

If you need more convincing on why I love audiobooks…

  • fiction, memoirs, and dialogue-heavy stories work great as audiobooks
  • if you pay attention, your comprehension is the same to reading a book.
  • find a narrator you love. A good one changes voices, inflections, and draws you deeper into the story.

Fun *spicy* books....audio is super fun!

On my "to read' list

I have been using the app GoodReads. It’s the only way to keep my books organized. I add new books all the time to my ‘to read’ folder and it keeps track of all the books I’ve read or listened to.
