All the books I read in 2024
365 days of read. Some days I took off. Others I read like a maniac.
I’ve never done this before.
I never set a goal to read a certain number of books in a year.
When I joined Goodreads – I saw other peoples lists, and I thought “I love lists, so why don’t I make one”. Not just of books I’ve read over my life but this year.
Heck, let’s set a goal. How about 20…or maybe I could read more. But let me get to 20 and see how I feel.
Well, October 30th – I read 20.

books I listened to on audio
Listening to audio books are new to me.
Some days, I listened while I worked. Listened while I drove. Listened while I folded laundry.
I did some examining of how I was using my free time. Well, maybe not free but time I would usually listen to upbeat music on repeat and I wasn’t really enjoying it. I wondered if I could cook for a client, fold the piles of laundry, walk on the treadmill, even clean my house all while listening to a book on tape (ha, that makes me sound old)…all while listening to an audio book. Yes. I could make this shift.
By making this shift, I have felt that I’m using the time better. I’m using it more effectively and not completely zoning out.
my top 5
Well, that was hard. Picking my top 5 from this list of 20 was a fun challenge. While, I really did like parts of all the books I read, these 5 stood out. The stories I will remember. The characters will stay with me.
As I look at this line up, the most important similarity of all of these books are women. Women who have stood up to people in their lives and who have challenged the social and political norms. Women who changed their stories and fought for what they thought was right.
