Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup + 1 tablespoon gluten free flour blend
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup + 1 teaspoon cacao powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons plain apple sauce
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk (or milk alternative)
  • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together all of the dry ingredients, flour to salt.
  3. Add in the wet ingredients and mix together with a rubber spatula by folding the ingredients over each other until all the dry ingredients are incorporated.
  4. Generously grease a donut pan with cooking spray. Using a piping bag, add the batter into the donut forms.
  5. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and let sit in the pan for 4 minutes. Use a sharp knife to carefully score the sides and release the donuts from the pan. Flip the pan over so the donuts come out. Let cool on a wire rack.
  6. Glaze by dunking the donuts into the glaze or spoon over each donuts. Sprinkle with sprinkles or leave plain.
