I'm loving | June
At the beginning of the month, I took 2 weeks off from work. It doesn’t happen often but I’m slowly learning to take the time for myself, setting priorities and not putting too much on my plate at once. There was no way, I could cook for clients during a move. It was nuts. While we tried to make it less nuts… let’s me honest, moving is just crazy.
We are happy in our new home. Settled isn’t really the word I would use – but we do feel like it’s our home. Each day, we are doing something to make it more ours.
The Fall will be busy around here with renovations, paint, floors, furniture and planning. Until then, we are living in the space to discover what works for us and what doesn’t. It’s amazing how fast you realize somethings just don’t work… like we don’t like where our pull out trash can is. Drives me nuts!
We moved in. Now what?
We have some major renovations on the horizon that we are hiring the professionals for BUT we also have a long list of some DIY adventures we are throwing ourselves into. My husband doesn’t know about these yet, so shh.
Did you guess it? The kitchen…but specifically the kitchen range, hood, alcove area.
By no real surprise the kitchen is one of the first rooms we are planning a large renovation on. We don’t need to change the layout (much) which will save us some money and time.
I’m obsessing over the range area. I love the look of a built in hood with a beam. Maybe some storage on the side with a large marble backsplash. I want it to make a statement. You turn the corner into our kitchen and wow. That’s what I want. I also NEED it to be very functional, have tons of storage and over all just work for our family.
Here are some pictures of inspiration that I found on Pinterest.
Breakfast treats...I love a good muffin or donut!
What I bought from Article.com
I threw the dice in and hit the purchase button, on two chairs and a bed I had never seen in person. Didn’t touch them, did know the real color or really anything – other than the reviews online and what the website said.
Let’s just say – we love it. Article has some great contemporary and mid century modern furniture that we like. That’s my style and when one website just has that – it makes it so much easier.
Parts of my house that are also in the planning phase. Do you have any ideas?
What I made 1 year ago.
We are headed to Maine for our annual trip in the Summer. Lake life, with sprinkles of fresh air, easy living and no agenda. Plus all the road side farm stands, fresh berries and lobster rolls.
