Description

Sweet and salty charred chicken – serve with jasmine rice and broccoli.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 heaping tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 46 dried chili peppers
  • 6 boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • garnish with scallions and sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425F.
  2. In a medium sized bowl, combine the tamari, honey, garlic, black pepper and ginger together. Add in the chicken and toss to coat with the sauce. Let sit until the oven is preheated (around 20 minutes is perfect).
  3. When the oven is preheated, transfer the chicken and all the sauce to a heavy duty skillet (cast iron works great). Bake the chicken for 10 minutes. Remove and turn the chicken thighs over. Place the chili peppers into the pan, around the chicken.
  4. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove and turn the chicken thighs over for the final time. Bake for 4-6 minutes or until the chicken is browned.
  5. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds. Serve with jasmine rice.
